Volunteer Day 4-24-2004

We had a beautiful day for hanging the new perimeter fence, and just the right size crowd of volunteers to get it well on its way to completion. We thank you all for coming out and helping the cats! Here are some of our volunteers hard at work. Please note, there are a lot of photos on this page, so it may take a little while to load on a slower connection.

Kim Chiswell and Leah Merritt work together on refreshing the gardens inside the main enclosure area.

Judy Adamia and Virginia Lowery also help with the beautification efforts.

Eddie Powell, Bridget Crokus, Amy Burdette, Tom Swain, and Josh Scullen work together on turning really long steel poles into only sorta long steel poles. No, really, they took turns see, and so they all worked on the project, sooner or later.

Bruce Felton and Shane Valentine work together to get the chain link fence tied to the perimeter poles.

Sierra McDonald and Mary Ann Furedi bring more fence to get hanged. Hung. Put on poles.

Missy Gamber digs holes for the perimeter poles.

It's not easy mending fences. Or making them.

The new perimeter fence begins to take shape.

Bruce and Sharon Lyons work on getting the new tapestry of wire properly stitched together.

Shane Valentine, Erin Earl, and Betsy Ratcliff cement the poles into position. Yep, they're at the pole position.

Bernie Schreurs and Connie Harward prepared a Volunteer Day meal to remember. This is going to be a tough act to follow!

Eddie: "C'mon, guys, at least look at my cool new beard!"
Mark: "Man, the cats think you're a mountain goat. Anyone got a pair of scissors?"
