Mountain Lion Sanctuary Tour: The Hillside

Cooper's Rock Mountain Lion Sanctuary won a grant from the Ahimsa Foundation that provided the money to build The Hillside, the sanctuary's second 50-foot-square enclosure, and the only one located on the far side of Cougar Run. It has a steel frame and chain-link walls. The sanctuary built the enclosure in January 2002, which includes a block weather shelter and a den.

Carrie preferred privacy, so the sanctuary moved her to The Hillside where she would be away from other cougars and the sanctuary headquarters. Carrie lived there until her death on October 28, 2002.
